Recent National Recognition

Townhall is a well-known conservative political site with nearly a million visitors per month and contributors such as Bill O’Reilly and Fred Thompson. About a year and a half ago, I was contacted to be a consulting creative director and translate their strong web presence into a successful editorial publication.

After many months of work, I was able to aid in the creation, design and the successful launch of Townhall Magazine. We just found out that the magazine has been named one of the Hottest Magazine Launches of 2008, along with National Geographic, The Wall Street Journal and USA Today, among others! Below are a few sample spreads.

700 Obama Covers

This site has an amazing collection of Obama newspaper covers from around the country and world.

The Purpose Driven Pastor

I’m a huge fan of Rick Warren, and was pretty excited to see that he will be gracing the cover of Time for the week of August 18. Time’s synopsis was “How a charismatic Californian became the closest thing to Billy Graham — and why religion in America will never be the same.” You can read the feature here.

Worth 1000 Words

I can’t remember the last time I saw a major magazine run a cover with absolutely no blurbs. Brilliant.

Bob Dylan Vanity Fair Spread

Andrew Nimmo and Beth Bartholomew created this brilliant spread of Bob Dylan for Vanity Fair in homage to Milton Glaser’s famous poster. (Click image for hi-res).

Mad Magazine Fold-Ins

The New York Times has a very cool interactive display of Al Jaffee’s fold-ins for Mad magazine, from the 1960s to the present.

Obamery

The morphic cover of the New Republic’s latest issue.

… and another interpretation from HUB college

Strike a Pose

Lebron James will appear on the April cover of Vogue, becoming just the third man to ever do so in the magazine’s 116-year history.  Do you know who the other two men are?

CCM covers

I recently shot five covers of Family Force 5 for CCM Magazine’s annual reader’s choice issue. The band by far is the most energetic group I have ever worked with (…I don’t think they took their ritalin that morning).

Future of Hip-Hop

The upcoming cover for CCM’s “Future of Hip-Hop” issue, featuring Grits.
